When Lebanese Delicacies meet Exotic Fascination

Lebanese & Middle East Cuisines-

Going through the entrance, I felt like walking into a fascinating Arabic world.

The mosaic decor and Persian style woven cushions in the reception area leading to the gorgeous interior with grating pattern Islamic window and exquisite carving design chandeliers created an amazingly exotic atmosphere.

Wooden low tables with sofa and pouffe seating, tiled walls near the bar table, wrought iron lantern style lamps, and antique ornamented metal jugs further highlighted the authentic Lebanese environment.

Located between Lan Kwai Fong and Soho District,  the Shahrazad Lebanese Dining Lounge & Bar has a cozy balcony area giving a nice night view of Wydham Street.   It's a modern local take on the vintage Middle East aesthetics !

In Lebanese culinary tradition, meals are to begin with mezze that are small plates of appetizers such as dips, salads, and pastries, followed by a selection of grilled meat or fish. To go with the culture, we picked Hummus and Makanek amongst a wide array of mezze, before tasting a mixed grill platter.

Hummus (chickpeas puree with sesame sauce) $80~
As a bean lover, I like the smooth creamy dip blended with chickpeas, sesame tahini, lemon juice, and garlic. The pita bread was so crispy and perfect for spread of the puree with sesame flavour and refreshing citrusy taste.

Makanek in Promegranade Sauce $98~
Marinated in fragrant spices, lemon and promegranade juice, paired with tomato, onion and parsley, the homemade sausages were savoury with plump texture and a touch of smoky flavour.

Shahrazal Mixed Grill (Small) - Mixed meat platter with vegetables on charcoal $385~

Brilliantly served in a big vintage metal pot, the platter of chicken , lamb and beef was so appealing visually with complex tastes and flavour.

The lamb chop was tender and juicy in particular.

Extra delights were added with tomeya (creamy garlic sauce) and tahini (sesame paste). The great taste was nice to go with the oriental rice cooked with chicken soup and spicy herbs.

Blueberry lemonade $65~      Pharaoh $95~
Two mildly sweet yet refreshing drinks concluded the impressive dinner in this captivating chill out spot!
